The Knitters Lounge

Take a break, get inspired, and enjoy some mindful making in our brand-new Knitters Lounge. This cosy and creative space is designed for all skill levels—whether you’re a seasoned knitter or just curious to give it a go.

Pull up a chair and add a few rows to our ongoing community knitting project, get helpful tips or guidance from the friendly Crochet Guild of Australia, or simply bring your own piece and enjoy a quiet moment to stitch and relax.

Whether you’re staying for five minutes or settling in for a longer session, the Knitters Lounge is the perfect place to connect, create, and unwind.

Creative Hub

All activities are FREE and open to all ages! Drop into the Creative Hub for a burst of colour, creativity, and fun. Whether you stay five minutes or an hour, there’s always something to make, colour, or create – no experience is needed!
Join in with string art, bracelet making, scoobie keychains, colouring in, and share what first sparked your love of craft!

Queensland Bookbinders' Guild

Queensland Country Women's Association

Since 1922, across Queensland’s cities, regional and remote community’s women have been joining QCWA. Empowering women through education and health is a priority for the QCWA and it drives many of the reasons women from all walks of life join them. As QCWA members, they enjoy great variety in their activities and pursuits, with the activities of each branch driven by the interests of the local members and the unique circumstances in their locality and community. For some it is in interest in making new connections and friends, knowledge sharing and learning new skills, or influencing the unique needs of their local community and ultimately, improving the lives of women and families.

Brisbane Modern Quilt Guild

The Brisbane Modern Quilt Guild is a community for quilters to share and inspire each other.

Their vision is to promote the craft of modern quilting in a friendly atmosphere and to provide a place to share ideas and skills. Their focus is a love of modern quilts and fabrics and sharing that love by supporting others online and in person.

They are a member guild of the international Modern Quilt Guild. For more information about modern quilting generally please head over to stand Guild B for more information on the MQG.

Brisbane MQG was established in 2014 and while they originally served the Brisbane area they have expanded further into the south east corner and have members across SEQ. They now have satellite groups on the northside at Chermside BCC Library and in Gatton at Colonial Cafe. Their central meeting at The Hub, Mt Ommaney is tehir main home, and they welcome members and visitors on the third Sunday of each month.

Decorative Folk Artists of Qld

Decorative Folk Artists of Queensland is a group of painters of all ages who enjoy getting together each month to paint and explore different styles and techniques of decorative painting, led by an experienced teacher. They meet at the Lower Community Hall in the Mount Gravatt Showgrounds on the first Saturday of the month from 8.30 to 3.00 pm.

The Embroiderers' Guild Queensland Inc

The Embroiderers’ Guild, Queensland is a relaxed environment where members share knowledge, learn new skills, and enjoy fellowship.

Throughout the ages, people of all ethnic backgrounds and cultures have adorned their clothes and homes. The techniques and styles may vary with time and place, but the results are always the same: to celebrate the love of the beautiful.

One of the aims of their Guild has been to keep all forms of embroidery alive, both modern and traditional techniques. They have a range of classes which cater for differing levels of skill from the beginner to the accomplished embroiderer.

You do not have to be an experienced embroiderer to enjoy the many pleasures the Guild offers. Discover your inner creativity, learn how to express it with needle and thread, and delight in the company of like-minded people. Find out more at stand Guild F.
