What you need:

- An old pair of stockings
- Paint
- An old tin or plastic container
- Some cardboard
- Cushion stuffing
- Elastic bands
To Make:
- Start by cutting the body section off your stockings, leaving you with two long legs.
- Grab handfuls of cushion filling and insert it into the stockings, making sure to push it all the way to the end of the stocking.
- Once you have filled the stocking about half way, start grabbing sections of the stuffed stocking and tying them off with elastic bands.
You may need to add more filling each time you tie off a new section. Keep going until you think your cactus may not be able to support itself anymore. Trim the excess stocking.
- Once you are happy with the shape of your cactus you can paint it.
DISCLAIMER: You need quite a lot of paint for this. The paint tends to soak in a bit so a surprising amount of paint is needed. - Hang in a warm place to thoroughly dry.

- Paint your tins. You can do whatever you like here. Leave it plain, paint on a Mexican pattern or add on some felt shapes when dry.

- To finish, pop your cactus into your container and find a new home for it!
