9.30am to 12noon Learn how to utilise fabric remnants; old tablecloths, sheets or patchwork scraps for creating cordage. Sian will introduce different applications for cordage. A great way to reduce waste and give new life to fabric scraps. Cordage is an ancient and foundational fibre art technique that allows you to make infinite lengths of string or rope.

Materials included: Scissors and some examples for show, instructions.
Skill Level: Beginner to intermediate. No previous skills required.
Students bring:  Please bring fabric scraps longer than 30cm that amount to at least 2sq metres. Cotton or similar is ideal.

Coiled Basketry

12.30pm to 3.30pm Learn to create your own basketry using the coiling technique. Using ethically sources, raffia and other natural fibres you will weave your own unique vessel.

Materials included: Premium fair trade raffia, wool yarn, cotton yarn and a blunt nose needle
Skill Level: Beginner to intermediate. No previous skills required.
