The Unofficial Mascot

My quirky interpretation is of the Bin Chicken (Australian White Ibis) often described as the unofficial mascot of the 2032 Olympic Games which are being held in Brisbane QLD and will put our beautiful city “On the Map”.
“Binny”, proudly placed on a green Brisbane City Council Wheely Bin, and using Jacaranda flowers up close and a distant city skyline to give depth and perspective.
Adding an arial view of the Brisbane river to create movement, the Story Bridge, the Magenta Bougainvillea Arch walkway through Southbank, a 2032 flag and fireworks to celebrate this Olympic event.

Trek – Day 1

Edie had explored these southern peaks with her dad and granddad since she could walk. Now she moved with purpose towards the adventure she had been waiting for. This was the day one on the 165 km trail. Her focus was reaching the camp at Mud-DadJug 14km away. She was well prepared with camp gear, supplies and an old map that her granddad had insisted she carry. ‘Can’t always rely on a phone out there’ he’d said.

Keep Me on the Map

In a world where climate change is impacting our environment on a daily basis, many of our iconic creatures are facing a challenging time. Such is the case of the Gang Gang Cockatoo, a favourite of many of us, but now on the endangered list. They nest in old tree hollows in eucalypt woodland forests. This habitat has been severely impacted by bushfires and with climate change, their young are dying in the nest from heat stress due to increased temperatures. I am sure many of you share my sentiment to protect their habitat and Keep them ‘On the Map’.
