He gained Instagram popularity world-wide with his knitted blanket designs featuring delightful Copenhagen houses.
Working mainly with yarn and needlecraft techniques, his work ranges from knitted cityscape and landscape blankets to individual sculptural portraits and original characters. Recognisable influences include folk art traditions and popular culture, with a focus on elements of collectability, reproducibility and practical pattern-making. Known for its simplicity of concept and refined fabrication, Henzler’s work often depicts aspects of our collective lives in a functionally familiar and graphically pleasing way.

In this conversational small group workshop, you will learn from Jake how to knit his colourwork terrace houses (pictured at left), and about his approach to knitting design. The class will cover practical tips of colourwork used to complete each block, and possible approaches to personalising blocks in your own project. Whether you’re new to knitting or new to colourwork, during the workshop you’ll receive individual guidance to begin knitting your own set of terrace blocks.
Materials provided: pattern for 1 block, discount code for all patterns, 4-ply cotton (any preferred needles or yarn will need to be brought by participants)
Participants must bring: a pair of 3.00mm knitting needles.
