Make a Coiled Basket with Raffia and Fabric

Presented by Vicki Fowler from Basketmakers of Victoria

Session 1 – 10.15am to 12.45pm SOLD OUT

Session 2 – 1.15pm to 3.45pm

Learn the technique of coiling, in this colourful and happy workshop, to craft a basket using recycled materials. No two baskets are alike. The method uses hand dyed raffia and blanket stitch around a core of colourful fabrics. You will learn how to start, shape and finish a basket.

All skill levels are welcome from beginners to experienced Basketmakers.

Session cost: $100

All materials are supplied: A tapestry needle to take home; hand dyed coloured raffia; laundered recycled fabric; instructions; wool/yarn and various trims.

Mosaic Workshop (Pot or Coaster)

Presented by Be-Ras Creatives Art Café

  • In this mosaic workshop, you will learn the art of creating a beautiful mosaic planter or coaster from start to finish.
  • Choose from a variety of colourful glass and learn how to design, stick, and finish your own unique piece. Adhesives, glass tiles, and grouts used for indoor and outdoor mosaics will be provided.
  • No artistic experience is necessary, as you will be guided through the entire process.
  • Enjoy a fun and hands-on experience working with a range of materials,

Glass Painting Workshop

  • Join us for a transformative beginner-friendly glass painting workshop where you’ll learn how to create your own custom light. Using an acrylic panel and a light with a base, you can paint intricate designs and vibrant patterns to take home.
  • Glass paints and brushes are provided.
  • A variety of reference drawings are provided.
  • Step-by-step guidance.
  • Transform a simple acrylic panel into a mesmerising night light.
  • Don’t worry if you’re new to glass painting; our artist will provide all the support you need throughout the workshop. You’ll feel confident as you explore different painting techniques and unleash your creativity to make a unique night light that reflects your personal style.
  • By the end of the class, you’ll proudly take home your stunning piece of art to gift to a loved one or brighten up your living space.

UV Resin Cherry Blossom Jewellery

Join us for a fun and creative event in Melbourne where you can learn to make your own unique cherry blossom-themed jewellery using UV resin!
No experience is necessary, just bring your creativity and we’ll provide all the materials you need. Choose from either a silver or gold-toned matching set of earrings and pendant necklace or create two pendant necklaces from a variety of settings.
In this 90-120 min workshop you will learn how to:

  • Safely use UV resin
  • Correctly mix pigments
  • Apply resin for the best effect
  • Cure your piece/s
  • Assemble your Sakura jewellery

By the end of the class, you can take home your resin cherry blossom jewellery and some new skills!

Waffle Dessert Candle + Dried Flower Wax Tablet

For making Waffle Dessert Candle, you’ll learn:

  • How to dye wax and blend colours
  • Choose fragrance to scent your candles
  • Select toppings to personalise your candle designs
  • Learn the techniques of pouring cream-like wax for candle decoration

For making dried flower wax tablet, you’ll learn:

  • How to design the wax tablet with dried flower
  • How to dye wax blend colours
  • Choose fragrance to scent the wax tablet
  • Decorate your wax tablet with ribbons

We use natural plant-based wax, premium scents are all from Australian local candle suppliers.

Watercolour Paper Flowers

In this workshop, you will learn how to create your very own unique paper flower using watercolour painting. No experience is needed, as watercolour is a beginner-friendly medium – you can let your creativity flow freely!

  • Select from a variety of pre-cut watercolour paper flowers.
  • Paint them with any colours or patterns you desire.
  • Shape and curl the petals once dry, and assemble them onto a bouquet!

As you delve into watercolour painting, you’ll feel a sense of relaxation and creative zen that will stay with you. The experience of painting and crafting your paper flowers will be both soothing and enjoyable.
