Queensland Quilt Show
Quilts hanging in the Queensland Quilt Show showcase the talents of individual members, affiliated groups and special interest groups. Featured exhibits include the Fabric Challenge, Modern Challenge and State of the Art (SOTA) quilts, alongside a range of special displays.
This is one of Australia’s largest quilt shows, with over 220 quilts entered for judging and over 600 in total on display, with a prize pool of over $20,000. On the first day of the Fair, October 14 at 10:15am, the Queensland Quilt Show competition winners will be announced. This year’s theme, Curves, inspired quilters to showcase their creativity, craftsmanship and innovative design.
Fabric Challenge on Display
Held for more than 30 years, the Fabric Challenge exhibition showcases the creativity and craftsmanship of quilters working across traditional, modern and art quilting styles.
State of the Art Quilts (SOTA) on Display
This exhibition features a curated collection of contemporary art quilts created by Queensland Quilters Inc. members.

Charmaine Ludlow
My name is Charmaine Ludlow and I have sewn from a young age. I was introduced to quilting in 1983 when living in Blackwater. Access to fabric & supplies was limited compared to what is available today. We mainly learnt from each other and available magazines.
My skills improved by attending workshops, retreats, quilting and craft shows, quilting groups and women sharing their knowledge of quilting techniques.
I have been a member of Qld Quilters Inc since 2014 when I entered my first judged quilt and obtained a Highly Commended award. Over the last 12 years I have been excited to receive many more awards including best machine quilting.
Wherever I have lived, I have been a member of wonderful quilting groups and supported charity organisations with my quilts.
